Controllers

What is a temperature difference controller? It's a microprocessor driven switch that monitors the temperature at the output of solar collector and at the bottom of the solar hot water cylinder. When the collector is hotter than the water at the bottom of the cylinder the controller switches the pump on. The pump pushes a solution of antifreeze (typically Tyfocor or Fernox) around the system. This solution takes heat from the collector and transfers it via a solar coil in the bottom of the hot water in the cylinder. Once the cylinder temperature gets to a predetermined setting the solar controller will switch the pump off.
